Enchanted April
By: Matthew Barber
Director: Deanna Jent
Show Times: July 13, 14, 15, 28, 29, August 2, 3, 2007
Rose and Lottie, two discontented
housewives in London in the 1920s, decide renting a villa in Italy
for a month is just the tonic they need for a break from their staid
marriages. When they find they can't
afford it, they advertise for two more ladies to share the vacation. Joined by a bitter elderly woman and a
beautiful young socialite, they all fall under the spell of Bella Italia.
What they learn about love, life, and themselves surprises each of them and
leads them down paths they never thought they would take.

The Man with a Load of Mischief
By: Ashley Dukes
Director: Steve Callahan
Show Times: July 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, August 4, 5, 2007
A masterpiece of romance, adventure and
intrigue set in 1800. A beautiful
lady flees a relationship with the Crown Prince. In a remote country inn she may find
either protection or betrayal. She
might even find love! Dukes tells
his compelling story in rich and beautiful language, with wit and humor,
and all in the shadow of that egalité which threatens the ruling classes of
Europe.
“The woman who runs will never
lack followers.”

The Importance of Being Earnest
by Oscar Wilde
directed by Amy Arnott*
July 21 – 23, August 6, 2006
Need we say more? A classic comedy of
manners in that most mannered of eras—Victorian England, this is Wilde at his wittiest! The bons mots fly as best friends
Algernon and Jack find themselves hopelessly in love—Algernon with Jack’s
ward Cecily, and Jack with Algernon’s cousin Gwendolen—daughter of the
redoubtable Lady Bracknell. Will
Jack’s lack of pedigree impede his romance?
Who on earth is Earnest, and is it really necessary for grown men to
be baptized? And what can a handbag
found in a cloakroom have to do with anything? You’ll be delighted by the twists and
turns and the startling resolution of this charming play!

Drama at Inish
by Lennox Robinson
directed by Rob Grumich*
July 14–16 & 28–30, 2006
It’s a typical, slow moving summer in the Irish seaside town of Inish. John and Annie Twohig, proprietors of the
Seaview Hotel, have devised a grand plan to boost tourism—they have hired a
theatrical company to perform nightly in the theatre that they own. And the plan works, but in unexpected
ways. As the townspeople and
visitors watch Ibsen and Strindberg each evening, they find their own
lives’ stories on the stage, and are greatly affected! Robinson pokes fun at his Irish
countrymen and at theatre itself in this delightful play first performed in
1933 by the famed Abby Theatre of Dublin.

Noises
Off
by Michael Frayn
directed by Deanna Jent*
October 13–15, 19–22 & 27–29, 2006
Ever wonder what goes on backstage when
the actors disappear from view? This
is your chance to find out! Act One
shows you a British acting company rehearsing their next play, Nothing
On. Act Two takes place when
the play has been running for a month, and what you see is—what is going on
backstage! Love triangles, jealousy,
clandestine drinking—maybe this is better than the play itself! In Act Three, we get back on stage a
month later, and the personal trials and tribulations of the cast have
spilled over into (or maybe become!) the play. And as a bonus—YOU, the audience, actually
go sit backstage for Act Two! This
is theatre like you’ve never seen it!
