The Romantic Age, by A.A. Milne—a beautifully, happily, drippingly romantic comedy.

Production dates:  June 12-15, 28, 29.

The cast:

    Melisande Knowles, young daughter of a solidly middle-class Edwardian family.  She
is filled with dreams of romance.
Amanda Williford

    Mr. Knowles, Melisande’s father, who has his own vein of romantic whimsy.
Mark Abels

    Mrs. Knowles, her mother, set on finding Melisande a “solid” husband. . . .
Teresa Doggett

   Jane, Melisande’s young cousin.  She has more common sense than Melisande.
Amy Schwarz

    Bobby, Melisande’s persistant but very ordinary suitor.

    Gervase, a handsome and dashing stranger who appears one night dressed as
Prince Charming.

  Gentleman Susan, an old itinerant ribbon peddler.  A magical role, full of charming
wisdom.

    Ern, a country boy of six or so. 

 

Ladyhouse Blues, by Kevin O’Morrison—set in a working-class home in St. Louis in 1919.  Liz Madden and her four daughters show grit and spirit as they struggle to survive and wait the return of the son who’s fighting in France.  Rich in local and period color.
